He's a very special part of our family, having been married to our mom for 34 1/2 years now. He just turned 80 on February 11, 2004. It sure is hard to believe!!
What a surprise! He knew he was going out for dinner with my mom and his son, but....WOW! He didn't expect ALL of us! Especially his daughter and some of her family. They came up from Maryland and were a COMPLETE surprise.
I think I can handle this....
(Nah...we couldn't do THAT to him..hehehe)
Wendy, Chazz and two of their daughters...
Enjoying Grampa's party...
There's Norman, Denise and Peter in the back, chattering away...
Well, thank you so very much everyone. I can't believe you all surprised me like this. I've enjoyed every minute of it and love you from the bottom of my heart.
Sadly, I have an update to this page. Wendy, Al's only daughter, died the day before her 46th birthday, on May 19, 2004 from complications during heart surgery. If you'd like to leave her flowers or just stop in and leave a few words on her memorial page, click on her picture here. She was a wonderful, loving woman, with a heart of gold. She left behind, her loving husband of only 1 1/2 years, four sons, 5 daughters, and several grandchildren.
Thank you so much.
In Love and Prayer,
Susan
Sadly, I have another update to this page. Al joined Wendy in heaven on May 6, 2008. He had been between the hospital and the rehabilitation center since February 10th with complications of diabetes. Finally, a few days before he died, he had to have his left leg amputated because infection had gone too far and was traveling quickly through his system. During the surgery, he suffered a major stroke. All they were able to do is to send him back to the rehabilitation center to finish out his life.
If you'd like to leave him flowers or just stop in and leave a few words on his memorial page, click on his picture here. He is sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Thank you so much.
In Love and Prayer,
Susan
